What is Cloning? - The process of copying card data to blank cards to create physical duplicates. Requires MSR dumps and proper encoding settings
What is MSR? - The Magnetic Stripe Reader reads and writes physical bank card data onto the magnetic stripe. Used to create physical cloned cards from a card dump
What is EMV? - Cards with a secure microchip that is harder to counterfeit than Magnetic Stripe Cards. Most modern cards use EMV technology.
What is Dipping? - Repeatedly inserting a cloned card into a bank terminal to force it to use a magnetic stripe instead
What is NFC? - Contactless payment technology in cards allows you to press a button to pay. Mainly used in phones where data is stored digitally (ApplePay, GPay etc), but increasingly regular physical cards with contactless payment are also being produced
What is skimmer? - A skimmer is a device installed on card readers to steal card data by swiping the card with a finger. It is often found at ATMs and gas stations. (be careful yourself)
What is POS? - A Point-Of-Sale terminal processes card payments in stores. Some terminals are more vulnerable to attacks than others
What is ATM? - Automated Еeller Ьachines dispense cash and take deposits. Popular target for skimmers and shimming devices
